Storm International, a company that manages gambling facilities, announced operating results for 2017. It’s reported that compared to the previous year, revenues increased by 12%, while net profit increased by 14.8%.
In the reporting year, the greatest growth was shown by the Shangri La Tbilisi casino (21%) and Shangri-La Yerevan, with an outstanding figure of 48%. According to the management of the company, the main reason for the active development of both markets is an increase in the number of foreign customers who continue to discover Georgia and Armenia as attractive destinations for gaming tourism. Last year, the number of international flights doubled both in the direction of Tbilisi and Yerevan.
In November 2017, Storm International company opened a Shangri La in Riga – SL Casino. The new institution is located in the heart of the capital in the newly built Grand Hotel Kempinski.
Darren Keane, Storm International CEO, commented on the opening: “We expect a good development of the project in Riga due to the strong reputation of our brand in the region, and the location of the casino in the most prestigious hotel in Latvia will certainly help the success.”
In 2017, the company took the first step in the development of online business by launching the online casino project PlayShangriLa.com. For several years the management of the company sought to create an Internet version of Shangri La, developing a product of appropriate quality. Online casino Shangri La started to work in April 2017, and is designed to combine all the advantages of this brand.
